Behavior Health Services for Youth, Families and Communities

Building better communities, one person at a time, is not just a slogan, but the guiding principle at Options for Independence. Our goal is to help people live and work in the community of their choice. We are proud to offer a wide array of behavior health services for youth, families and communities. Options for Independence is a nationally recognized provider of Multisystemic Therapy (MST) and Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare (FFTCW). These programs focus on at-risk youth specifically by working intensively in the family, home and community setting. In addition, Options for Independence offers mental health counseling, community psychiatric support and treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation for youth with a mental illness. Recently, we have reinstated the youth intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program to provide substance abuse treatment for youth struggling with an alcohol or drug addiction. We also offer individual substance abuse counseling, weekly outpatient group therapy, as well as SAP-DOT (substance abuse professional) assessments. Our focus is on the individual and creating unique person-centered plans that incorporate the individual’s strengths, needs and abilities to develop attainable goals important to that Participant. We invite you to learn how our focus on each individual is making a difference everywhere we work.

Options for Independence is proud to be an active services provider for all 5 Bayou Health Plans (Medicaid), Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, Humana, United and Medicare. The organization has a license through the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
